Using a variable grid for the logo, the brand evolved into a wide range of collateral and expressions to bring life back to the school through a cohesive identity. Working with a talented illustrator, we created a vibrant package design set to stand out on the shelf of the already crowded pet CBD market. Each package features a bright, bold identifying color to coordinate to the health attributes of each product. Our team pitched the concept of “Reflections” and designed the entire visual system around the theme. We worked closely with the AIGA KC team to coordinate specifics around the event and help them put on a great show to celebrate KC’s local talent. It was a fun opportunity to let loose a bit and design a system with both 3D and static elements. The Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) wanted to share something more personal than a pamphlet – so, we designed their annual Viewbook to show students what makes KCAI stand out from the competition. With a stronger focus on actual student artwork, this vital recruitment tool empowered prospective students to start imagining how and where they could see themselves at KCAI. The 2018-2019 report is the first document to debut the new KCAI identity, created from its brand essence: Imagine what the world has yet to see. Its cover introduces the dynamic system in its gridmark form and its complementary “revealed blocks” – the missing components from the gridmark – through die cut, to spark curiosity. The remainder of the piece is formatted in a gridded layout, purposefully representing the matrix foundation of the mark. With the reocurring manrta “Best Workweek Ever,” this event is a highly regarded and fun learning opportunity for these nurse educators. I assisted on a team to create the brand and collateral for this project. The Seattle Summit was supposed to be in person but was unfortunalty moved to a virtual experience due to the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020.
