Each year, prospective art & design school students face a sea of mailers, leaflets, flyers and more from colleges and universities. The Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) wanted to share something more personal than a pamphlet – so, we designed their annual Viewbook to show students what makes KCAI stand out from the competition. With a stronger focus on actual student artwork, this vital recruitment tool empowered prospective students to start imagining how and where they could see themselves at KCAI. With big imagery, bold color floods and a unique gridded format, the 2020-2021 Viewbook also showcased KCAI’s newly established identity, created from its brand essence: Imagine what the world has yet to see.
